Recount Writing

I am learning to write a recount of my experiences:

• write simple sentences
• order my ideas
• record the sounds in words
• use capital letters and full stops.

Learning to participate in School Activities

I like to practise my handwriting in different ways.  I enjoyed watching Science experiments and going to the Howick Historical Village

Using pictures, sounds, and word patterns

I am learning to use picture clues, initial sounds, meaning and word patterns to read words.

You are trying to read books with more words.  You use pictures to help you and you can look at the beginning sounds to check if you might be right.  Mrs Templeton 15.11.16

Shape Pizza - Geometry

I am learning to identify, name and sort a range of 2D shapes according to their attributes: (number of sides, corners, parallel lines, curves, size, shape etc)

I can name some shapes.

Identifying key words using intitial letters and picture clues

I am learning to recognise words in the text using beginning sounds and the pictures to help me.



I liked doing this, it was fun.  I didn't know how to do it.  I need help to find the words.

I am learning to describe a storm using my senses.

To be successful I will choose interesting words to describe what I can see, hear and feel during a storm.

Visual Art: Geometric Shape Art

I have been learning to observe and compare the works of other artists and to create my own art work using geometric shapes.

To be successful I needed to look at the works of Klee, Matisse and Kandinsky (right) and cut a range of shapes in different sizes and place them carefully to create my own masterpiece. (left)

I am learning that numbers can look different but still equal the same.

“Mine looks different because it has 3 and 5 and that makes 8.”

I have been learning to kick my feet to move myself forward in the water.  It is really scary to do.

My Family

For writing I am writing about my family.  I have been learning to use capital letters and full stops in the right places. 

I liked writing about my dogs but  I found it a bit tricky to remember to use full stops at the end of my sentence.
